Human HEK293S GnT I-/- parental cell line was infected with recombinant lentivirus carrying the FUT8 gene in the pLV-CT vector to establish the Stable FUT8 Over-expressing HEK293S GnT I-/- Cell Line. FUT8 gene encodes for the fucosyltransferase 8 enzyme (α1,6-fucosyltransferase) which is involved with the transfer of fucose from GDP-fucose to N-linked type complex glycopeptides. It has been linked that FUT8 can independently fucosylate high mannose N-glycans without GnTI. Manipulated to over express FUT8, these cells can be utilized for studies relating to fucosylation and the involvement of the enzyme.
