Description
abm | Stable Bcl-xL Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast (Cytosol) Cell Line | T6082
The Stable Bcl-xL Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast (Cytosol) Cell Line was derived from embryos of a pregnant mouse heterozygous for the bcl-x gene (bcl-x+/−). After immortalization by transfection of the SV40 large T antigen, the mouse embryonic fibroblasts were transfected with mutant Bcl-xL cDNA lacking the membrane-anchoring region. This stable cell line is able to express B-cell lymphoma-extra-large (Bcl-xL) which specifically confines to the cytosol. Bcl-xL is a major regulator of cellular apoptotic signalling by expressing Bcl-2 proteins. The Stable Bcl-xL Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast (Cytosol) Cell Line is a useful model in studying apoptosis regulation of tissue differentiation and homeostasis focused specifically in the cytosol. This cell line can also be useful in screening and development of new therapeutic strategies for cancer and other diseases.
