Stable HEK293T Expressing Mouse DMT1 Cell Line overexpresses the divalent metal transporter-1 (DMT1) introduced to the HEK293T cells via transfection with DMT1 cDNA. The cell line is useful for the cell-based screening of small molecule inhibitors of iron uptake due to metal-sensitive calcein fluorescence. Hence a unique feature is that in the presence of iron, calcien fluorescence is quenched. Therefore, the Stable HEK293T Expressing Mouse DMT1 Cell Line may be used for calcein fluorescence quenching to assay for iron transporter inhibitors to gain more insight on iron uptake.
