Description
abm | Ovine Brown Adipocyte Precursor Cell Line | T6311
Brown adipose tissue (BAT) plays a critical role in regulating body temperature. Ovine brown adipocyte precursor cells (BAPC) were isolated from fetal labs at (d 90) of gestation and established into a stable cell line. The cells are characterized by adipogenic differentiation and expression of hallmark genes, uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1). These cells present us with an opportunity to study the molecular mechanism behind the nutritional regulation of BAT growth and development in fetus.
